Enjoy some down time on a farm holiday in Altenmarkt
Treat yourself and your loved ones to a break and enjoy a carefree holiday on our farm in Altenmarkt in a stunning natural environment.
It all began in 1969, when the farm first rented rooms to holidaymakers; two holiday huts were then built at the edge of the forest in 1972, which were refurbished in 2015. Various guest rooms were converted into holiday apartments during the renovation of the farmhouse in 1997. 2003 saw the construction of a holiday home with holiday apartments, and changes and improvements were also made to the business. In 1995, the parents handed the farm over to Markus and Monika, who are now the 5th generation to manage the farm.
The management of the farm with traditional dairy cattle is extensive and organic; the cows spend the summer from mid-June to mid-September on our alpine pasture, where they are looked after by a herdsman. Our cows graze on fresh alpine herbs and produce delicious and healthy hay milk. An increasing number of people are applying to work as herdsmen on the alpine pasture to escape the hectic pace of everyday life, and several weeks with the animals in the natural and tranquil surroundings of the pasture is the perfect way to wind down.
