Skiing in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee – for families and sporty types!

The double ski paradise Altenmarkt-Zauchensee has something for every requirement: while families, beginners and little ski enthusiasts will be happy on the children's paradise "Fichtelland" in the Altenmarkt ski area, ambitious alpine skiers, free riders and carvers will find demanding slopes in the Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski area.

Numerous activities off the pistes!

Although almost everything revolves around skiing in the famous Salzburg winter sports region of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, there is also plenty of activity off the slopes. Winter and snowshoe hikes lead through the snow-covered mountain landscape, ski touring enthusiasts will find fantastic routes like the Lackenkogel or Strimskogel peaks, and those who spend their cross-country skiing holiday in Altenmarkt can revel along a 260 km network of cross-country trails.

Toboggan thrills

The Bifei's Hütt'n and Hochnössleralm toboggan run, a beautiful 3.2 km natural run, is just next to our farm. The start approx. 1 hour away on foot, or you can travel there in comfort by toboggan taxi or car. Altenmarkt, Zauchensee and Radstadt have four toboggan runs, each with its different fun factor.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides

Romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides lead through the stunning winter landscape of the region. A horse-drawn sleigh ride is always an unforgettable experience on your winter holiday in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
