Our farm is the ideal starting point for beautiful hikes, walks and bike tours, and some routes even pass by our front door! We would particularly recommend the Strims circular route, which leads idyllically through cool forests and will inspire you with the view of the vast Zauchensee valley basin.

Explore the beautiful region on your hiking holiday on our holiday farm in Altenmarkt, where over 20 marked hiking trails at various altitudes are suitable for families and pleasure hikers alike. The 22 bathing lakes and various outdoor pools provide cool refreshing relief on hot summer days and the 18-hole Radstadt Golf Course and Academy Course 5 km away offer the best conditions for anyone who wants to spend a golf holiday in Altenmarkt.

You can discover the beautiful landscape around Altenmarkt on over 200 km of bridle paths in the region, and some of the riding stables nearby offer guided rides. Tips in the area: the Zauchtaler Reiterhof and Pferdegut Römerhof stables.

Cycling and mountain biking in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee

Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is a paradise for mountain bikers, road cyclists and eBikers and offers a well-marked, 150 km network of cycle paths, and is connected to the Enns Cycle Trail and the Tauern Cycle Trail to open up even more opportunities. All downhill mountain bikers and free riders will find plenty of challenges in the Wagrain bike park, just 16 km away. Mountain bikers seeking more arduous challenges can hit the pedals hard on 23 varied mountain bike routes. You can also explore the Altenmarkt region on your road bike and, if you’re feeling particularly brave, you can attempt the 36 bends of the Großglockner High Alpine Road.

Are you seeking even more variety on your summer holiday in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee? The central location of our holiday farmhouse is in fairly easy reach of the many attractions in the Salzburg region. The whole family will enjoy excursions to the Mozart and festival city of Salzburg with a visit to the Hohensalzburg fortress and the wonderful Mirabell gardens (75 km), Hohenwerfen castle with demonstrations of falconry (29 km) and the largest ice cave in the world in Werfen (34 km).
